Nano time again, and as usual, I haven't really given it much thought. What story from my list of ideas will I try and tackle this year? That's about as far as I get, then on November first, I get up and hum and haw over it until I pick one at random, which is usually a very un-flushed out plot nibblet, and then a week into Nano, I'm stumped.
That's the usual path I take. Will I spend the next six days attempting to change that? Maybe. I think I know what story I want to do, so at least I have that head start.
But the question is this...what snacks do I need to have stocked up in order to make it through NANO? Because, lets face it, the best way to procrastinate when you're stuck is to stand in the kitchen, opening all the cupboards, pretending you're hungry just to get away from the keyboard. When it gets really bad I start feeling like I should be scrubbing the toilet, but let's hope it doesn't get to that point this year. So, large stockpile of nibbles = finishing nano...that's my theory anyway.
So, snacks...a good mix of healthy and junk, a balance of salty and sweet and a steady supply of drinks. They have to be non-messy (love ketchup chips, but my keyboard would get pretty stained if I ate while typing), and they shouldn't require dishes because washing them would cut into writing time. Ideally, I'd have a little bar fridge (Hello Kitty if I could find one) under my desk stocked full of flavored water and a veggie tray with dip. I'd also have an electric kettle no more than five feet away, and a good supply of tea bags and flavored hot chocolate (After Eight and Coffee Crisp.)
A half dozen bags of chips, home made brownies, cookies and tarts in a variety of flavors...hmmm what else? Anyone have any ideas for good nano-ing snacks?
